The unique design of the Gambrosol™ trio bag (3 compartments design) is ideal to minimize the formation of cytotoxic GDPs: the glucose is protected from degradation by a high concentration, low pH and no contact with buffer and electrolyte during sterilization1.
A recent study (Diurest) demonstrated that after 18 months of PD treatment with Gambrosol trio, the decline in residual renal function was significantly lower compared to patients treated with conventional PD fluid2 Given that residual renal function may have an important influence on quality of life and survival of PD patients3 the results of the Diurest study indicate that the use of the Gambrosol trio fluid might make a valuable contribution to improving the clinical outcome of patients on peritoneal dialysis.
