Hemofiltration (HF) is a purely convective therapy that, for chronic dialysis, is usually delivered using on-line machine systems like the AK 200 ULTRA™ S system.
Hemofiltration is currently not as widely applied, but considered by many to be the most physiological therapy because of its convective nature providing the best hemodynamic stability during dialysis.
On-line HF is best done in predilution mode with high substitution volumes. The therapy is excellently supported by Gambro’s ULTRA Therapies offering and Polyflux® high-flux dialyzers.
