Microorganisms may enter the dialysis fluid path, via the water used during treatment, as water-born bacteria and fungi. Fluid path contamination may also occur via a blood leak during treatment containing blood-born microorganisms like HBV, HCV and HIV.
For the disinfection of the fluid path, there are several disinfection process parameters to consider: the disinfection method, concentration of disinfection agent, time of exposure (dwell time) and temperature. The CleanCart cartridges fulfill these requirements when combined with the heat disinfection process on the AK 200 S and AK 200 ULTRA S.
The CleanCart® cartridges, combined with heat disinfection programs, are intended for cleaning, decalcification and disinfection of the fluid path, in an easy and environmental friendly way.
