Gambro signs with S.C.M S.r.l. (Italy) a preliminary agreement for the sale of its blood line manufacturing facility in Latina (Italy)

Following the announcement on October 4, 2007, to discontinue manufacturing operations in Latina, Italy Gambro is today announcing the signature of a preliminary agreement with S.C.M S.r.l. (Italy) for the sale of the bloodline manufacturing facility in Latina (Italy)

The preliminary agreement is under the condition that Trade Unions and employees approve the deal by June 16th.

Over the past months Gambro have evaluated proposals for purchasing the plant in the attempt to find the best solution for its employees. Among the proposals received, Gambro deem the one from S.C.M S.r.l. the best to offer adequate guarantees of occupational continuity because S.C.M S.r.l. will continue to employ all the employees currently employed by Gambro.

Gambro’s decision to discontinue manufacturing at the Latina plant is part of the industrial plan presented to trade unions in October 2007. This plan, through which Gambro is consolidating its industrial footprint in Europe, foresees the consolidation of the manufacturing of bloodlines in Medolla, Italy and in Přerov, Czech Republic.
