Match citrate anticoagulation and calcium management with your therapy of choice
Adequate anticoagulation of the extracorporeal circuit is an important factor in effectively delivering CRRT. However, a significant proportion of critically ill AKI patients are at high risk of bleeding, and systemic anticoagulation with heparin is not always feasible. Regional citrate anticoagulation is a good alternative in such patients, but its efficacy relies on removing calcium from the blood before it enters the CRRT filter. To maintain normal patient blood calcium levels, calcium must be reinfused into the patient's blood after the CRRT filter.
With the Prismaflex eXeed II software, calcium replacement is fully integrated and controlled by the Prismaflex system in accordance with other CRRT prescription parameters.
Molecular Adsorbent Recirculating System (MARS) compatibility
The Prismaflex eXeed II software enables you to prescribe MARS through a dedicated Prismaflex user interface. The user interface displays on-line instructions to guide you through Prismaflex MARS therapy setup and to simplify therapy implementation. This latest development makes the Prismaflex system the ideal device for implementing both CRRT and the MARS therapy.
